Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Jackman-Thomas stood out last week against West Seattle for his ability to score from the perimeter and put the ball on the floor to get to good spots for shots. He’s a bouncy forward who usually plays tough inside and can step out to nail the 3-ball but took his outside scoring up another notch against the Wildcats. He started the game out hitting a defender with a good pump from 3, then took a dribble in and knocked down the baseline pullup. It’s not something that’s been a big part of his game, but he’s continued to get better at scoring while working from the perimeter. Later in the game he made a great drive to split defenders and aggressively get to the hoop, and then later again he caught the pass from an OOB play and immediately got downhill with two strong dribbles then rose up for the big two-hand slam. He’s always been an exciting athlete but the improved consistency with the outside shot, and the growth creating off the dribble have really elevated his status as a prospect over his senior year.

Jackman-Thomas is a guy who kind of floats between the perimeter and the paint but showed he can be that reliable frontcourt presence for a team that looks to lack that true post player. He’s strong enough to battle bigger guys for rebounds, using his bounce to snag boards and finish up high at the rim. He’s physical, quick, and works hard. He should pose some matchup problems for opposing bigs this season with his versatility.

Jackman-Thomas is a jack-of-all-trades. He’s a big body on the wings and can affect the game from all over the floor. He’s got a reliable trigger from three, can handle the rock and make good decisions with the ball, and has the strength and athleticism to be a big factor on the boards. There’s potential for him to go off on any night, just given his activity around the hoop, but he can fill into whatever role is needed and always comes with the energy.

Bellevue has an interesting team that actually has some great depth on the bench and part of that depth is thanks to Jackman-Thomas. He can come in and pick up multiple positions with his size at 6’5, but he’s also able to contribute in multiple ways on the offensive end. He can hand the ball well and play on the perimeter, his corner three looks good too, but he also has a little reckless abandon to his game, and it shows up on the glass. He’s a versatile piece for the Wolverines and should be a big factor for them off the bench and potentially spot starting throughout the year.
