Smith is a prospect who I’ve always been a fan of with his impressive athleticism, scoring ability and most importantly physicality and defensive effort. During the grassroots season I thought Smith was a great guard defender. During the high school season Smith is asked to create offense and hardly gets a chance to rest so his defensive ability doesn’t shine as much as it did during the summer. I think Smith is a scholarship level talent who might slip to the Division III level, which would allow him to make an instant impact.

Smith is one of the top unsigned senior guards in the state and proved it once again on Sunday. Smith is an athletic shot maker who hit some tough contested jumpers in this game. With Smith’s athleticism, ability to make shots and defensive ability to me he’s a scholarship level prospect. With no current offers, he’s currently potentially the biggest target for top Division III schools in Ohio. We’ll see if scholarship programs throw Smith an offer later in the season but in my eyes, he is more than deserving of a look.

Smith is the player for Shaker Heights this year. Great size for a guard. Elevates high on his jump shots. He has a nice jumper that gets him many buckets. His mid-range game is superb. Gets to his spots, jumps very high, and buckets. He leads by example for Shaker. Very confident player.

Smith impressed during both June and July, showing his ability to perform with his high school and grassroots team. Smith has a good frame for a guard and has long arms. Smith is a tough shot-maker from the mid-range and has the ability to create for himself when he needs to. Smith picked up an offer from Notre Dame College (OH) in June and I expect more scholarship programs to get involved soon.
