Eight. The heartbeat of Wichita Collegiate and the Wichita Padres was one of the quickest and smartest players we saw all summer. Kamari has a hand in just about everything his offense does and it can be as simple as pushing up the floor quick and starting the offense before the defense is in a good spot, or it can be a rapid attack past the help for a rim finish. Kamari has been offered by USM, Ottawa, Bethany and Barclay over time and he’s a preseason all state player. Made a great pair with Jaydin Araujo Jaydin Araujo 5'11" | PG Wichita Southeast | 2027 KS (who is a combo that we will list tomorrow).

An all state player that led the Spartans to a 27-1 record and helped the team earn the Class 3A state title. Kamari averaged 15.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.1 steals per game last year. A first team Division IV all league player that has at least five scholarship offers.

The 5’7 speedster earned all state third team honors and then took to play with the Wichita Padres and had a great 17u year.

Jennings had a great season ball pressuring and pushing, and has earned offers from Barclay, Bethany, USM, and Ottawa. One of the most feared lead guards in the state.

A lasting impression from the weekend will be Kamari Jennings Kamari Jennings 5'7" | PG/SG Wichita Collegiate | 2027 State KS of the Padres catching the sidelines in-bounds pass and sprinting away as well as running in circles as SSA players tried to catch him so they could build the foul count. SSA was down two scores late and they needed to foul, and Jennings was fouled three or four times but he ran about 25-30 seconds off a clock that was inside a minute and this is essentially put the game away. The speed and quick handle was too hard to catch up to!

Kamari also went to the rim scoring on four other possessions (in addition to the foul shots he finally shot) plus had four assists. On a day where there were only 21 scoring possessions for the winning team, being a direct part of nine of them (stat wise) is a big deal.

His court vision consistently put teammates in scoring position, delivering accurate passes in transition and in half-court sets. Jennings’ quickness allowed him to break down defenders off the dribble, collapse the defense, and create open looks on the perimeter and at the rim. Combined with his tight ball handling and composure under pressure, he controlled the tempo of the game and served as the engine that kept Collegiate’s offense flowing efficiently.
