Evans came out hot in the matchup with Northeastern knocking down a few jumpers early in the contest and showing off some solid wiggle to get open. He’s a shot maker who excels with the ball in his hands or in catch in shoot situations, expect Eastern Wayne to lean on him some as the season progresses.

The MVP of the 16U division saved his best game for last leading his team in scoring (18 points) and securing the championship. He’s a crafty scoring combo guard who looks to have improved his playmaking from the lead guard spot to go with his quick release that extends way beyond the three point line.

Fighting with Lopez for the division leader in scoring was Evans who averaged slightly less 19.3 points per game. Known for his ability to shoot the ball he looks to have added a more solid handle to help create shot opportunities and some added athleticism made him more equipped to finish at the rim.

Evans is a smooth operator for college programs to get on their radar with NC Invasion this spring/summer. He led his squad to a 3-1 record at the Big Shots NC Tip-Off after producing 17.0 points per game including 22 points in a 74-72 victory over Team Wall . His ability to operate in isolation and on the fastbreak is hard to find across the 2027 class in the state of North Carolina.

A disappointing high school season in terms of team success should have the scoring guard from Southern Wayne ready to see his first AAU action. After averaging 13.5 per game as a freshman he saw his scoring jump a full four points to 17.5 per game as a sophomore. He has a nice ability to get his shot off with a quick release over most defenders and has improved his finishing ability when getting downhill. He’ll be running it back with NC Invasion this grassroots season.

Evans continues to lead the way once again for Southern Wayne as he rises into the 32nd spot in the 2027 rankings update. He’s shown he can make things happen in a number of ways with averages of 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Saints. He’s a sizeable guard at 6-foot-3 who’s shown he can fill up the stat sheet with consistency. DI and DII programs would be wise to check in on him.

Evans was a standout performer once again with NC Invasion as they took home the 15U Gold Championship over 7th Nation Warriors in sudden death overtime. He’s been impressive all summer long as he’s climbed up the PH radar with his ability to score the ball on all three levels as well as his ability to keep his teammates involved. He put up 20 points in their upset bid of Team Trezz Chase in the semifinals and followed that up with 30 points in the championship game. He’s quite the scoring guard prospect to get to know in North Carolina’s 2027 class at Southern Wayne High.

Evans didn’t spend much time on the varsity squad with Eastern Wayne this season but he’ll be a solid addition to their young core next season. He’s an aggressive scoring presence at 6-foot-2 who’s already made his mark this grassroots season with NC Invasion on the independent scene. He’s shown he can get hot in a hurry from behind the arc and off the bounce given his length/athleticism.
