Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
After a couple promising seasons, Shook has fully broken out as part of one of the best one-two punches in 3A. Plays with his head on a swivel and has fantastic vision. Complete with fancy passing. Dictates the pace on drives, playing with the patience for the defense to collapse on him. Or keep his dribble alive to give his teammates the extra second to finish their cut to the rim. Has produced some of his better shooting performances in the tougher match ups this year. Giving him a gamer mentality, which will be crucial as the Rangers are a team capable of making a run to the Class 3A State Title game.

When Shook is shooting like he did against Heritage Hall, the Rangers are one tough team to beat. He got one to fall early and shot it with confidence throughout. Even was shaking and baking when getting into pull ups. Including drilling clutch shots in the second half. His shooting opened up the rest of his game, good pace and smoothness as a driver. Has the ability to make quick decisions, with a behind the back dime on one drive. Have always liked his vision and feel, now has made big strides as an exciting combo guard for 3A Contenders Roland.

Shook is a wing from Eastern Oklahoma, who looks to be trending toward more of a playmaking guard. Displayed good floor vision and handles at the RUN Showcase. Even dropping no look dimes. Sneaky slasher off the dribble too, with good size and body control to get to the rim. The Rangers will be looking for another State Tournament appearance in Class 3A. A potential breakout junior season from Shook would help raise the ceiling of a talented squad.
