Expert Analysis
Jack Herron | Prep Hoops Scout
Powell had a good sophomore season helping lead Hampton Christian to a state semifinal appearance, and he’ll be in the running for VISAA D-IV Player of the Year this season. At 6’4” he’s a big and physical wing who can rebound and finishes very well through contact, he can put it on the deck and get downhill or get to spots in the midrange area, he’s an athletic finisher when he gets out in transition, and he can impact the game across the board for his team on both ends of the floor.

Read EvaluationEric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
Powell is a prospect with plenty of upside who brings good positional size, athleticism and versatility to the wing. He is a capable three level scorer who can create his own offense off the dribble and finish above the rim when attacking the basket. Powell also has the physical tools to make a significant impact on the defensive end, with the potential to develop into a high level defender at the next level.
