We recently updated our class of 2028 rankings in the state of Virginia, going to 142 prospects from across the state we believe will be players to keep an eye on moving forward. Obviously the list will change plenty over the next two seasons, but for now here's a look at part two of some of the top juniors in the Hampton Roads area.

#92) [player_tooltip player_id='3659470' first='MJ' last='Fitch'] | 6'0” CG | Kellam

Fitch is part of a Kellam team that could be a dark horse in the Beach District, and while he's playing alongside the favorite for Beach District Player of the Year, he'll do just fine and they'll be a nightmare of a backcourt to matchup with. The 6'0” combo plays an aggressive style as he gets downhill and is very good at finishing over bigger defenders, he can fill it up from all three levels off the bounce, he has good range from deep and is very good at attacking closeouts, and he has a high IQ on both ends of the floor too.

#117) [player_tooltip player_id='3554614' first='CJ' last='Ronase'] | 6'1” SG | Catholic

Ronase is a player that just shows how deep this Catholic team will be this year, as he has the tools to start anywhere else but will be an important piece off the bench for them this year. The 6'1” off guard has long arms which allows him to play much bigger than he is, he is a good athlete who can run the floor and finishes well around the rim, he can make open shots in the midrange and from deep, and he plays with a great motor on both ends too.

#121) [player_tooltip player_id='3728055' first='Justice' last='Powell'] | 6'4” SF | Hampton Christian

Powell was quietly one of the breakout players in the 757 last year, leading Hampton Christian to a deep run in the VISAA playoffs and putting up 18.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in doing so. The 6'4” wing is super active as he plays with a great motor on both ends of the floor, he's able to start the break off of rebounds on the defensive end and does a good job crashing the offensive glass, he uses his size and strength around the rim and in the midrange to finish tough buckets, and he is an unselfish playmaker who is a good passer for his position too.

#125) [player_tooltip player_id='3659475' first='Leyton' last='Harrington'] | 6'4” SG | Cape Henry

Harrington is a player I expect to have a big breakout year at Cape Henry and move way up this list after making his debut, as he has a lot of tools that translate well to the next level if he continues to develop. At 6'4” he has great positional size and is a sneaky athlete when he gets around the rim, he is a knock down shooter from deep who doesn't need a ton of space to get his shot off, he can get to spots in the midrange and make tough shots, and he's a good rebounder for his position too.

#126) [player_tooltip player_id='3554567' first='Tajari' last='Negron'] | 6'2” SF | Hampton

Negron played a vital role in Hampton's run to state championship last year, and he's the type of player you want as the heart and soul of your team. The 6'2” forward is willing to play and guard whatever position with his strength and athleticism, he does all the little things like fight for loose balls and sacrifice his body defensively, he's an excellent rebounder and post defender for a player his size, and he's very aggressive as he gets downhill and out in transition where he can finish through contact at will.

#130) [player_tooltip player_id='2919013' first='Elijah' last='Long'] | 5'10” CG | Lake Taylor

Long is part of an absurdly deep Lake Taylor backcourt that made a run to the Class 3 state championship game before losing to Petersburg, and he's quietly one of the more talented guards you'll come across in the area. While he's only 5'10” he plays much bigger with his ability to finish and rebound in traffic, he is a versatile scorer who can create space off the bounce and knock down shots from all over, he can make plays for others with his vision and passing ability, and he brings a ton of toughness on both ends of the floor too.
