Henkel stepped up in a big way during his senior campaign. He increased his scoring output to 20 points per game and earning First Team honors. The 6’8″ forward was a steady force in the paint for Janesville Craig, which finished 10–8 in conference play. One of his standout moments came in a 33-point effort against Sun Prairie West. He consistent production earned him first team honors in the Big Eight.

A former homeschooled student, Henkel began attending Janesville Craig as a junior and has taken tremendous strides in his game over the past 12 months. He has great size, good strength and the ability to score near the basket, from the mid range and even out past the three-point line. Henkel had a good club season with the Wisconsin Swing , and figures to be one of the top frontcourt players in the Big Eight this winter. Henkel owns scholarship offers from Mary (D2), Rockhurst (D2), Valley City State (NAIA), Jamestown (NAIA) and Southwest Minnesota State (D2).
