The other Habersham Central big guy who stood out in Franklin County is Judge. At 6’7″ 220 lbs, Wilbanks is capable of playing a bruising style of basketball close to the rim. He is an excellent passer, has a strong second jump, and good feet in attack mode. However, Judge also has a good handle for his size and will have inbounds sets run to get him open on the perimeter. I was a big fan of Wilbanks and his game on Saturday, racking up 24 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Easley.

Wilbanks saved the best for last, scoring five points in 6.1 seconds. Just when it looked like Habersham Central was beat, Wilbanks scored his first points of the game on a corner three with 6.1 seconds left to cut the lead to 54-53 in the fourth quarter. After North Oconee split a pair of free throws, Wilbanks ran the floor and tipped in a miss at the buzzer to force overtime at 55 apiece. Judge finished the game with 6 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. While his stat line doesn’t jump out at you, his five points at the end of regulation were the biggest in the game and will not be forgotten in Habersham history.

Strong forward with stretch capability. Goes into the post and scores with his back to the basket. Savvy passer out of the post. Soft touch from beyond the arc. Sturdy rebounder.
