Judah thrives in these fast paced settings of play. At 6’3 with a dangerous pull-up jumper and explosive athleticism, he’s tough to stop in isolation. Judah did a great job of getting to his mid-range spots off a limited amount of dribbles, and got impressive elevation on his shot making it tough for defenders to contest. Defensively his ability to move laterally at 6’3 caused problems for opposing guards as well. Coming off of a strong senior season at Columbia Heights.

Juah Caine – Caine is a six-foot-three-inch guard from Columbia Heights who has solid athleticism, good shooting mechanics, and good size for a combo guard. Caine has a knack for obtaining loose balls and wrangling steals. Against Holy Angels in December Caine scored 14 points while snagging 3 steals and blocking a shot, and he has 14 points versus St. Anthony Village in December as well. Against Minneapolis North just before the new year he scored 16 points while nabbing 2 steals, and against Minneapolis Roosevelt he scored 19 points while making two 3-pointers. January 4th versus Robbinsdale Cooper Caine scored 19 points again while Heights won 97-59.

Judah was a nightmare in transition for Power Circle Basketball Academy in their win over Minnesota HD . The 6’3 guard threw down a powerful dunk right over a defender, leaked out for another one handed dunk, and showed the body control to finish off the glass from difficult angles. Judah pressures the ball hard defensively, and was aggressive looking to jump passes to come up with steals and get his team transition scoring opportunities. He’s been a key player for Power Circle every time I’ve seen them play this spring/summer.

Caine is an incredible athlete who uses that athleticism to his advantage. As an undersized wing/forward, he collects plenty of rebounds thanks to great hops and timing. Caine plays with great intensity and physicality as a defender, and thanks to his aforementioned athletic traits, he can guard 1-4. Caine flushed a nasty put-back slam on Friday night, helping his team gain the necessary momentum to grab a win.

Judah was great in the one matchup I saw on Sunday, impacting the game in a variety of ways. The first thing I noticed was that the junior guard was playing hard, on both ends of the floor. Offensively, I really liked the way he attacked the basket, using his strong and athletic 6’3” frame to get downhill. Caine can also shoot it from the perimeter and was playing some solid on-ball defense. He’s making the move to Columbia Heights this season and is likely to be an impact player.

Shot wasn’t falling for Judah in the game I watched, but he still showed some nice flashes. At 6’3 he’s an athletic guard with the handle to create off the dribble. Able to get to the rim or create separation for a pull-up jumper. Quick hands allowed him to come up with a couple of steals on defense.

Judah made some huge plays down the stretch in an overtime win. Most notably, he connected with an off-balance three-pointer to tie the game before time expired to send it to OT. He worked off the ball the majority of the time, being able to catch a pass then either shoot it or make one move to get downhill. Caine is a capable shooter from beyond the arc, but also attacked the basket aggressively through contact. The athletic sophomore worked hard on the defensive end as well.
