Jr provided a big time threat in transition for Team 7. Early on in the game against Team 6, Jr swooped in to steal the ball before going coast-to-coast for a strong finish through contact. Already has some size at 6′ with the strength that allows him to take a bump and maintain his balance. That transition finish was followed up shortly after by a nice hesitation move that allowed him to blow by his defender off the dribble. Really crafty finisher around the basket. Excellent vision to see the floor and zip in passes to cutting teammates.

Stewart figures to contend for varsity playing time at Wisconsin Dells this winter as he is one of the top lead guards in the 2030 class in central Wisconsin. His combination of physical strength, confidence and ability are going to be assets for him as he competes in the South Central Conference with the Chiefs. Stewart can score the ball at all three levels and showed in Appleton he handles the ball and passes it at an extremely high level as well. Wisconsin Dells lost four starters to graduation so there are holes to fill in coach Brad Rohling’s lineup and Stewart just might be one of the key pieces for the team in 2026-27.

Stewart made a strong all-around impression for NESYB with his elite athleticism and versatility. He rebounded with authority, ran the break with purpose, and defended across all positions. Stewart’s ability to seamlessly switch on defense made him a valuable asset, and his uptempo play helped NESYB maintain an aggressive pace throughout the day.

JR Stewart showcased impressive point guard skills, highlighted by his strong ball-handling, pass-first mentality, and high basketball IQ that allowed him to keep his teammates involved. He was adept at spreading the ball evenly across the floor, ensuring everyone had their opportunities. When handling the ball, JR displayed a deep understanding of pace, maintaining space from his defender and playing at his own speed. He was calm and composed, never forcing his offense, which made him a reliable and effective floor general.
