About Josiah

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Physical! My strongest part of my offensive game is slashing to the basket and getting to the line, and getting the other bigs in foul trouble. I have solid handles and a good jumpshot. My goal is to be the best rebounder on the court every time I play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I want to always challenge myself. I want to guard and go against the best player on the court every time. I will do whatever is asked of me to win, and also do my very best to make the players around me better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am actively involved in my home church.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Again, my church provides me ample opportunities to serve my community and develop my leadership. I have done mission work, and weekly serve in some area in my church. As a leader, I'm vocal and engaged.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've had 4 knee surgeries (non-muscle injuries) in the past 5 years. A small bone chipped off of both knees at different times (once before 7th grade, the other last summer 24'). Doctors say it's due to my bones being weaker than my muscles. Both surgeries were successful, and I had to dedicate myself to rigorous training to get back on the court as quickly as possible.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that offers a program where I can be part of something special. The environment is critical to me. I'd like to contribute to a culture that wants to win and compete, where I can use and develop my skills to be the best player I can be. I'd like a Christian college, but more importantly, a place where I can fit in and contribute to a culture that wants to win.
