Gonzalez was hurt the first time I saw Chaney play so getting the chance to see him again in the playoffs was a good final opportunity to scout the talented wing. A big time athlete, Gonzalez has tons of powerful dunks and blocks on his highlight tape. Another talented wing scorer, when Gonzalez is knocking down jumpers he is very tough to slow down. Another potential scholarship level talent, it’ll be interesting to see if schools in the PSAC take a look at Gonzalez due to his athleticism and strength.

The best athlete featured on this list, Gonzalez has some crazy dunks on his mixtape that shows off his vertical explosiveness, strength and athleticism. The lefty is a big-time scorer with the ability to take over a game with a run of buckets. Gonzalez comes from a part of the state that often gets overlooked but he’ll have the opportunity to lead Chaney on a deep run this postseason, they take on Alliance tonight in a district semifinal game at Boardman.

Gonzalez was hurt to begin the year but has come back strong and is having a great senior season. A good athlete, Gonzalez highlight tape is filled with dunks and impressive outside shooting clips. Gonzalez can also make an impact as a help side rim protector due to his vertical pop and strength. That strength also allows him to attack the basket and finish through contact in the paint. The Youngstown area doesn’t receive the attention that some other parts of the state get but Gonzalez should be looked at by scholarship programs.
