How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Joshua Dorsette is a high school basketball player at Durham Academy in Durham, North Carolina. He plays as a point guard and is part of the class of 2026. Joshua is known for his skills on the court, including his scoring, assists, and defensive abilities. He also plays club basketball for Save Sports NXTPRO. Would you like to know more about his basketball career or any other details?

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Really focused and determined. Enjoys spending time with my family, and being a great teammate.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, Keystone Leadership Club @ Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

In my Keyston Club, which is a community service leadership club where we do service-learning programs bimonthly during the school yea. We learn and use skills such as discipline, selfless attitudes, diversity and socio awareness.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, Going through a coach change and transfer. It helped my understand change and how to adapt to change, It really made a better player and diversify my basketball game.

What type of college are you looking for?

Definitely a college with my major and a diverse, college community. I'm looking for a coach that will continue to push me and enable to become a successful young adult and positive assets to my community. Safety also plays a big factor into my decision. I want to be in a safe learning environment as well.

Dorsette is a rising prospect in the 2026 rankings out of Durham Academ at the point guard spot. He led the Cavaliers with 2.7 assists per game as well as 10.8 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest on 47 percent shooting from the floor. He’s a solid navigator off the bounce who’s shown he can get to the free-throw line after finishing eighth in free throws made (59) this past season. He ranked in eighth in the NCISAA 4A, according to MaxPreps, in his ability to create free opportunities for himself. He’ll be a name to know with Save Sports Elite this spring/summer given his skill set.
