Dalton has seen his recruitment get an uptick since joining Golden State Prep out West. Pepperdine, Jacksonville, Chattanooga and Stetson have offered him heading into his extra year of prep basketball. He’s a versatile presence at 6-foot-10 who’s shown he can operate inside and out with his athleticism, length and mobility. He’ll be one to watch on the postgraduate track.

The still available Dalton finished with a respectable 14 and 10 in their loss to Grayson. A 6-foot-8 Small colleges would be wise to get eyes on him before he opts for the JuCo or Prep route,

We mentioned a couple of committed seniors a bit earlier. Dalton is unsigned but he had one more opportunity to put college programs on notice on Friday evening in Winston-Salem. Dalton delivered and then some. He led all scorers in the 3A state championship game with 22 points and took home Most Outstanding Player honors. While playing primarily as a forward, he will also put forth plenty of time as a wing. What he gets accomplished as a rebounder compliments what he can do as a scorer. The 6-foot-9 veteran standout previously landed offers from Chicago State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Joshua Dalton Joshua Dalton 6'9" | PF Golden State Prep | 2025 State NC moves from 48th to 40th in the final rankings update for the 2024 class as he closes out his high school career with Central Cabarrus High. He’s been quite the forceful addition for their powerhouse squad as they’re 32-0 on the year. He’s produced 15.5 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 2.0 BPG, 1.1 APG and 1.0 SPG as their second-leading scorer and rebounder on the year. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on this Tuesday in the NCHSAA 3A West Regional Final with Central Cabarrus High at 8 PM. He’s an intriguing talent at 6-foot-9 with room to continue to improve on his ability to attack the rim and painted area on both ends of the floor. Division I and Division II programs in need of a developmental prospect who can operate as both forward spots and at the anchor spot would be wise to take a look.

Dalton is a new face in the state of North Carolina after attending Woodside High (VA) in 2022-23. He’s a budding prospect who can operate at either forward position and should pose a ton of matchup problems for opponents as Central Cabarrus High looks to repeat as state champions and go undefeated again in 2023-24. He’s a presence who can defend the painted area and finish in a variety of ways in the painted area. Look for his name to grow in the state this season in the NCHSAA’s South Piedmont Conference.
