I can not get enough of White Jr. He’s genuinely one of the most fun players I’ve watched in my time covering New England hoops. The 5-foot-11 (on a good day) guard has incredible quickness with the rock in his hands and gets to the front of the rim effortlessly as a result. He has good hang finishes at the hoop and takes contact well, but he can also hit little turnaround shots and can get hot from three on occasion. His passing vision is flashy but controlled, and he’s a phenomenal defender—I was seeing Jose Alvarado and Kyle Lowry flashes with White Jr.’s ability to sneak into the play and use his active hands for steals. Wow.

He is slithery, quick and one of my favorite players to watch. Jonathan is a dual sport athlete and I firmly believe if he focused on football could be a dual sport athlete at the D1 level because I saw him get more snaps and be a lockdown corner on the football field this year. He runs the perimeter well in the half court to relieve pressure from teammates who are about to be trapped or picked up their dribble. Still on the offensive side he can shoot at a high percentage from anywhere on the floor today he knocked two 3’s one coming off a curl just a catch/shoot and other was in transition off the catch as well. A two way player guarding 94 feet. He puts a ton of pressure on the defense with his paint touches/baseline drives with good hang time too if he is looking to score. A D1 prospect but would also thrive in D2.

White has been one of the biggest stockrisers of the entire prep school season. The 5-foot-11 point guard doesn’t play for a highly touted squad, but he has literally put his team on his back on numerous occasions this year, and it has been quite impressive to watch. He’s one of the better conditioned players in the region, and he uses his quickness on virtually every possession to breeze by his defender on the way to the paint. The lefty can also make shots from three and the mid range and is a talented passer. I wouldn’t be surprised if White ends up as a non-scholarship player, but it’ll probably only be because of his lack of size.

White is developing into one of my favorite players to the watch in the entire region. The 5-foot-11 guard is obviously undersized, but he has the heart of a LION. Against Holderness, his squad was massively overmatched, but he kept them in the game with a slew of ridiculous mid range shots, three balls, and absurd finishes at the hoop. The southpaw has insane quickness, and his conditioning is perhaps the best I’ve seen of any high school player in awhile. He doesn’t sit out at any point and is in go-mode every single possession. He’s a special competitor and player, and high D3 programs should be all over him right now.

White, a guard out of Buckingham Browne & Nichols, stood out as one of the event’s top playmaking defenders. White plays with elite quickness and short space burst, which allows him to suprise opponents by enter their space more quickly than they’d expect. He does a great job of reading plays before they develop and has some of the quickest hands in New England. Offensively, he has the ball on a string and seemingly gets to his dominant hand as a finisher whenever he wants. Beyond that, he’s capable of making shots both in the mid-range and from behind the arc.

White Jr. has special quickness and uses it to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he’s impossible to stay in front of and can get into the lane for floaters/finishes or dump down passes whenever he wants. Defensively, he uses his speed and lateral quickness to devour offensive players and get cheeky steals whenever possible—he had NINE of them against Phillips Exeter on Saturday. He’s the type of guy you love to play with but hate to play against. White Jr. significantly helped himself this past weekend and should see his recruitment spike.

Phenomenal passer racking up the assists leading to high percentage shots for his team. Unbelievable handles playing his game not letting defense speed him up or slow him down. Great hang time for a smaller player and just smooth overall. Had a nice “Kobe” paint touch turnaround jumper and shoots well from deep even as shot clock wound down not once but twice.
