played like a man possessed, scoring at all three levels with confidence and efficiency. He drilled contested jump shots with poise, and his range stretched to a respectable distance that will translate well at the next level. Beyond his shooting, McIver elevated quickly at the rim, finishing acrobatic layups and attacking taller shot-blockers with toughness. What made him most dangerous was his scary speed and explosiveness, allowing him to create plays off the dribble with dynamic quickness and pop.

showcased an elite first step combined with a burst of speed that allowed him to blow past defenders off the dribble and attack the rim. His explosiveness, paired with his crafty offensive approach, made him a tough cover in one-on-one situations. McIver’s acrobatic handles and exceptional body control allowed him to navigate tight spaces, creating shots and opportunities that left defenders struggling to keep pace. As a finisher, McIver was particularly impressive. His ability to adjust midair, using his length and creativity, enabled him to finish around bigger defenders, often scoring through contact or in traffic. His combination of explosiveness, finesse, and body control made him a dynamic offensive player capable of taking over games by consistently beating his man and finishing at the rim in impressive fashion.

is a silky smooth guard with great speed to blow past defenders. Has a great touch at the basket and around the basket. He is what colleges would want in a guard who is shooting well from the field and making the right passes.

Jojo was by far and away the best scorer for Ellison in their semifinal victory during state championship weekend. His offense was something to behold in itself. but his defense was also impressive as well:
- t
- His ball control was impressive when he was the main playmaker on offense. He facilitated well and always knew how to control the tempo of the game in favor of his team.
- Rarely turned the ball over and knew when to pass the rock for an easy assist to a wide-open teammate.
- His lateral quickness was impressive as he constantly hounded his matchup on defense and this led to several transition buckets coming off of steals where he masterfully picked the pocket of the offensive player.

6’4 2025 PG Jojo Mciver was “that dude” in Ellison’s big win over SA Veteran’s Memorial. To start, his speed and ball handling are super elite and that seems to put him ahead of the competition controlling the pace from start to finish. He was aggressive to the rim in transition finishing with 23 total but showed some true point guard skills with his passing ability to shooters once he caught 2 defenders attention. He finishing was elite as well able to hang in the air buy extra time on his shot. He also finished with 5 rebounds and 5 assist which makes him a day 1 top performer. Ellison will match up with Lancaster for the 5A title on Saturday.
