Brunson is an underrated point guard prospect to get to know out of Harrells Christian Academy. He led the Crusaders this past season in assists per game (5.9) as their lead playmaker in the backcourt. He’s also known to take on the role of primary defender, putting the stops on the top opposing guard he faces too. He’s a prospect for DII and DIII programs in the region to get on their radar.

Brunson makes his debut at No. 87 in the latest rankings update for the 2026 class. He’s one of the top defenders to make note of which could ultimately see him get a nod to the CG position in the near future. For now, he’s considered a point guard given his ability to defend the ball with menacing instincts, often holding stifling opponents with his pressure defense. He’s a prospect for DII programs in the region to get eyes on given his pedigree for defending and making things happen for others on the hardwood.

Brunson did a lot of things that didn’t show up in the scoreboard like face-guard Se Surmons Se Surmons 6'0" | CG Southern Wake Academy | 2025 NC down the stretch to prevent him from getting a bucket. He’s a strong, gritty floor general who made plays on offense when needed with his passing ability and led the way with six assists in the victory for the Crusaders when it was all said and done.
