Torres is a prospect who has shown flashes of being a difficult matchup, and we believe that he could be a standout game changer in the conference. Last season he averaged 6.2 points a game and had 3.6 rebounds to go along with it. What I like is his ability to handle the ball, push the pace and get the defense moving. That opens it up for Greeley West and hopefully he does more of that this year. We saw moments where defenses had to send additional attention his way, and his career-high 20-point performance against Wheat Ridge showed what he can accomplish when everything starts clicking. He’s capable of putting points on the board in bunches, but the next step is becoming more efficient and recognizing how to use his strengths to his advantage. We’d like to see him become more decisive when attacking, utilize ball screens to create advantages and remain active and engaged in the offense even when he doesn’t have the ball. Greeley West has some intriguing pieces, and Torres could be the player who gives them another dimension. They’ll all have to come together. I’m ready for the jump by him.
