Lawrence impressed with his poise and natural feel for the game. A shifty ball-handler with great footwork, he was able to control tempo and keep defenders off balance with changes of pace. He has a smooth handle and doesn’t over-dribble. instead, he uses timing and rhythm to get defenders leaning before attacking gaps. Lawrence also showed the ability to create space for jumpers, giving him an inside-out balance that made him tough to defend. Beyond the skill, Lawrence’s composure stood out. He looked comfortable dictating the rhythm of a possession, whether he was probing the defense for a driving lane or resetting the offense to find a better look. His patience and IQ give him the profile of a guard who can run a team while still being a scoring threat.
