Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Lenus, a combo guard out of Mount Saint Charles Academy in Rhode Island, is a creative prospect on the offensive end of the floor with potential to be a shutdown defender on the other end. He’s pushing 6’2″, with great length, and shows real comfort as an on-ball creator. He has a quick first step, can slip through tight spaces off the bounce, and has the ability to score in the mid-range. He slides off the ball and knocks down shots in catch and shoot situations at a high clip. Defensively, he can guard any perimeter spot and does a great job of staying in front of the ball and forcing turnovers with his length.

Lenus, one of the RIIL’s up and coming prospects, impresses with his athletic gifts in the open floor. A shifty guard, Lenus has done a nice job of developing his skillset to compliment his athleticism. He’s a big lead guard with impressive length that utilizes his athleticism to fly up the floor in transition. He’s quick, has great burst, and can navigate tight spaces incredibly well with the ball in his hands. Defensively, he utilizes that quickness to be a terrific on ball defender. While he doesn’t pop vertically, he’s a dynamic lateral athlete that is able to make plays in tight spaces. He’s a well rounded prospect that can score on the offensive end of the floor, make plays for his teammates in the half court, and be disruptive defensively. He’ll be a big piece to North Providence’s success this winter and should be among the state’s top performers.

Lenus, a shifty guard that likes to play with the ball in his hands, has some creativity as a scorer and playmaker at the two guard spot. A wiry guard, Lenus has an advanced scoring arsenal, showing particular skill off the bounce. He’s shifty, has some craftiness to his game, and knows how to get past the initial defender off the bounce. While he can score at all three levels, he shines as a rim finisher and mid-range shooter, utilizing a quick first step and nice elevation when trying to score. Defensively, he has impressive length and is quick laterally, allowing him to be a disruptive, point of attack defender. He’s continued to improve over the last year and has a chance to be a standout on a good North Providence squad this winter. He’s a prospect that should intrigue coaches come the spring.

Lenus has a strong upside. He is effective playing on or off the ball. Away from the ball he cuts hard and creates high percentage scoring opportunities. On the ball he has good handles, reads the defense well and can shoot, or get to the rim. He is very quick getting up the court in transitions. He can get up the court needing just a few dribbles. He made a tough shot at the buzzer to end the half in one of his games during the day.
