Scott Hankamp | Prep Hoops Scout
Caffey had a breakout summer and has continued his solid play. I’d love to see if he can use his strength and physicality to keep Johnson from going north-south at the rim. Caffey is a high IQ player that puts ‘WE over ME’.

I was so excited to see Caffey at the Prep Hoops Expo this fall. I finally got the chance to really look at his game. He didn’t disappoint. First of all, he’s impressive in person – A lot stronger and definitely with a next level frame. It was a showcase event, but Caffey showcased his desire to WIN. While he was at it, he showed off superior athleticism and an ability to defend the perimeter at a high level.

Caffey was quite simply one of the most impressive players in the gym at The Expo, not losing a single game in the 3 on 3 action. He’s continued that play. For example in their last win, he had a team high 15 points. The game before that, Caffey ha a 21 point and 10 rebound double-double. He has a next level frame and is a very recruitable high quality young man.

Caffey and a talented Brother Rice team take on Ferndale on Tuesday. Caffey was lights out this fall at the PH Michigan Expo. He’s a muscular guard that can play a matching physical style.

Caffey was a player that I was looking forward to seeing as The Expo was approaching. He was everything that I had hoped to see. Caffey has a solid next level frame. I was very impressed with the way he worked off the ball, setting strong physical screens away and for the ball handler. Caffey can be aggressive off the bounce with his first step and the way he keeps a low front shoulder.

Caffey showed at The Expo that he is a very legitimate next level prospect. He showed a net level frame and the knowledge of when, where and how to use it. Caffey was a willing and able passer and recognized and connected on good looks at the rim.
