About Jayvion

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Lockdown defender who takes pride in stopping top opponents. Attacks the rim strong and finishes through contact. Plays unselfish and finds open teammates.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Chill, funny, and easy to be around, but locked in when it’s time to work. I stay confident, play unselfish, and bring good energy to my team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Active in school and committed to academics. Earned Academic Leadership recognition and maintained Honor Roll status throughout all of middle school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Developed strong teamwork and trust by learning how to work hard alongside my teammates. Gained experience playing on four different teams, understanding my role in each situation and where I’m most valuable. I focus on communication, accountability, and doing whatever it takes to help the team succeed.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Faced the challenge of balancing a busy schedule with school, basketball, and responsibilities as an older sibling. Learned how to stay organized, be responsible, and manage my time while still improving on the court and enjoying the process. Also adapted to different teams and roles, staying coachable and focused on contributing wherever needed.

What type of college are you looking for?

Looking for a college that feels like home, with a strong basketball program and coaches who value development and team culture. My top choice is a Division I school where I can compete at the highest level, grow as a player and person, and be part of a supportive community while also getting a solid education.

Coming off a strong summer with a gritty K9 Elite squad, Kirby brought that signature competitive fire to the camp stage. He set the tone early with elite energy and foot speed, constantly flying around the floor, diving for 50/50 balls, and making winning plays for Team 2. Offensively, Kirby utilized his burst to carve out clean driving lanes. Combined with functional strength and sneaky vertical pop, he routinely finished through contact with impressive, acrobatic touch around the rim.

Being undersized is a bit of a statement for the 5-6 Kirby but his desire was never in question over the weekend. One of the craftier ballhandlers that I watched, Kirby was clearly not afraid to take it to the defense drawing a ton of fouls often finishing while being knocked to the floor. When not taking it to the rack, Kirby showed good range knocking down open jumpers all weekend.
