Jayden LeVerett is a dominant interior presence who will have a prime opportunity to impact the game on both endstonight against Birdville’s smaller frontcourt. His physicality, rebounding ability, and defensive presence make him a major factor in controlling the paint. Expect LeVerett to own the glass, creating second-chance opportunities for Chapin while also working to slow down Birdville’s potent offense by protecting the rim and altering shots. If he establishes himself early, he could be the difference-maker in this crucial playoff matchup.

. To no surprise, the Huskies went 2-0 in district play, and the Chapin big man totaled 43 points, 30 rebounds, and 18 blocks across two games. Keep in mind, this kid isn’t playing a full 32 minutes, nor is Chapin feeding him the rock every time down the floor. He plays on one of the best teams in the state, and shot attempts get spread around fairly evenly. Leverett is putting up some insane numbers with no stat padding needed. In the early week game against Chapin’s Northeast rival Andress, he stepped up when it mattered most in the second half. Chapin led by six at the half, and by the end of the third quarter, the lead ballooned to 27. He scored 12 points in the third quarter and was all over the floor offensively and defensively. There is no stopping this kid; Vanderbilt is getting a gem.

played the best game I have ever seen him play in person or on tape in my year and a half of scouting him. The game in particular was against Eastwood High School, one of the top programs in El Paso, TX. Numbers aside, he looks healthier than he did last season. He’s quicker, much more agile, and looks stronger through his base. He has a height and frame advantage over every center he matches up against in this area, so the points will come easier for him. Additionally, he plays with excellent play-making guards who know how to get him the ball. Most impressive is his defense. Attempting a shot over

at this point is bad offensive process. Not only is he turning back shot contests at the rim, he’s blocking jumper shooters at a consistently high rate. So far, it looks like Leverett is going to have a dominant senior season. He is set to join the Vanderbilt Commodores in the SEC starting in 2025-26.

now. He’s been offered by just about every major DI program in Texas and has collected his fair share of offers out of state as well. That said, there are still plenty more schools that still have time to get familiar with his game before it’s too late. Leverett is a lengthy 6-10 Big who can run the floor and guard in space while getting stronger in the post with each passing day. He’s the most coveted player in the Borderland and should have a stellar season as Chapin chases that elusive state playoff appearance.
