About Jayce

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as a great floor general, great shooter, playmaker and great defensive playmaker.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a mentality to work hard on and off the basketball court and I set goals to excel in everything that I do.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in the STEM program which is an early College credit program. The STEM program will enable me to graduate high school with an Associates degree. I have received academic awards such as, receiving 2 STEM student of the month awards and a Student Leader of the Year award that I received from the owner of my school - the most prestigious award the school awards to any student.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills on and off the basketball court by using my creativity and problem-solving skills in crucial situations. I’ve also developed teamwork skills by having a growth mindset and building relationships with my teammates and peers.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One challenge I’ve faced in the last couple years was playing for an elite level AAU basketball team with limited playing time. This situation helped me learn to play other high level players, work even harder and keep a positive mindset.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am interested in playing basketball at a high level and would love to contribute to a university either in-state or out of state. While D1 programs are my goal, I am open to have conversations with other school and universities as well.

Jayce’s physical tools are already on the level of a high school varsity guard. Very skilled offensive player that likes get to his spots on floor using his quickness to get his shots off. The good IQ he possesses was very noticeable going through different situations in our drills during the invitational Jayce’s game should translate well on the high school level as he is going into his freshman year of high school.
