suited up for Cimarron’s JV squad this year. He has some deceptive speed thanks to his long strides and he can get downhill fairly quickly. Newsome also utilizes his vertical to score in the paint and, also to gather rebounds. On defense, he is a capable shot blocker and disrupts his opponents frequently with his length.

Newsome was all over the boards against Arbor View. He grabbed one rebound after another. I also noticed him using some good footwork in the paint on offense. Which led to some easy buckets for him. He wasn’t on my radar before, but I believe he’s another freshman that shows some promise.
