There’s no hesitancy on his 3-point shot and he knocked down 3 of them on Saturday afternoon. Boyd finished with 15 points in a 23-point win over St. Anne Pacelli.

Up from No. 79: Lincoln Memorial signed the high-octane two-guard after he emerged over the summer as a stock riser. Boyd is a talented slasher that can score in isolation settings, getting his shoulders past defenders and able to finish through contact.

Lincoln Memorial-signee got stronger as the game wore on, attacking the rim throughout. All six of his field goals came in the paint on drives. In the fourth quarter and overtime, Boyd went 7-8 from the line. He finished with 19 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals, creating offense in isolation settings.

Boyd is a well-rounded scorer that is very good at finishing downhill. Jay has electric leaping ability to pair with a reliable mid-range jumper.

The senior guard will likely play a key leadership role for Hiram this year and has done so effectively during their time together in June and the fall. He’s a team first guy that will do whatever it takes and can go out and get a bucket when he needs too. This week, he was even working out of the high post and guarding opposing bigs down low.
