Poole impressed with high-IQ playmaking that often went beyond the box score. While everyone else was looking to score, he set the table. He delivered no-look passes, broke presses with composure, and executed rare but valuable entry feeds that you don’t typically see from a young guard. As one of the best passers in the gym, he displayed poise and vision, running the offense smoothly but also pushing the pace. His ability to elevate teammates while handling pressure set him apart from other guards on the day and while I am sure he wanted to shoot the ball more, it was refreshing to see a player look as if he knew what real basketball was. I am high on Jax after the showcase as a player we had already liked, but wanted to see against other top players in the state.

has developed and fine-tuned his craft this summer through his 2-way domination. Poole guards his matchup tightly and doesn’t allow an inch of room for his competition. At 6’0, Poole blows by defenders and earns multiple trips to the free throw line each game. Loveland High School should be one of your destinations this fall to watch Poole thrive on an increased volume.
Jax is a guard who brings energy to the floor and provides his team with a spark when they need it. He uses his athleticism on both ends of the floor, runs the floor well, and finishes in transition. Jax rebounds well for his size and is not afraid to get in there and compete. He also had a stretch last year where he was playing really well and they want him to show that consistency if they want to make some noise this year. Jax has the chance to be a workhorse defender that pushes opponents into turnovers, rebounds and can push the tempo. He was at No 61 last go round and jumps up 15 spots to show that he belongs. Excited to see him compete this season.
Poole has slotted in well with Loveland’s successful start to the year, bringing great decision making with the ball in his hands. Already capable of running ball screens or kickstarting fast breaks, his passing vision is far ahead of the vast majority of names within this class.
Poole is a jack of all trades for Loveland, providing value as a passer and high motor contributor. Putting up 5.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, the guard has carved out a serviceable niche within Loveland’s context, going 6-1 so far. Adept at pushing the pace in the fullcourt off the defensive rebound, the guard keeps his head up for the next play, carefully surveying the floor for well timed passes.
Poole was a player with a tight handle and can drop dimes to cutting teammates. He can create off of the dribble and was able to finish at the rim over taller defenders, at times through contact. He was able to knockdown the 3 ball, making defenders pay for not closing out properly.
