About Jaren
Expert Analysis
Charles Yates | Prep Hoops Scout
Jaren uses athleticism and poise to beat defenders scoring at all three levels and showcased that he is an elite level defender on the perimeter with his lateral quickness and ability to pinpoint where the ball will go, which allows him to capitalize on passing lanes. Weedn finished several layups through tough fouls that allowed him to go to the free throw line and take advantage of and-one opportunities to keep Team Blessed in the lead. He contributes to the boards well even as a guard and he is never afraid to get his hands dirty, making tough plays and gives 110% effort on both ends.

is a highly skilled athlete from Blessed 2028 that utilizes his athletic prowess defensively by effectively blocking shots. Offensively, he skillfully evades defenders, executing powerful layups with precision. Occasionally, he absorbs contact to draw fouls, allowing him to frequently visit the free throw line. Additionally, he contributes to both ends of the court by crashing the glass and providing valuable rebounding opportunities.

Jaren is a deep threat with real confidence in his shot. You can see the preparation. He steps in from well beyond the line and still shoots it clean.
He attacks first. Fits a fast pace, but stays under control. Never rushed.
Always a threat to get downhill. Will go to the rack and finish over whoever is there.

Weedn impressed as a freshman last year at the State Tournament. He’s a skilled scorer, who is already looking stronger and more explosive based on early season highlight clips. Regularly getting up and finishing with slams in transition. Often is too fast in transition and too quick in the halfcourt for his small town foes. Has helped Stuart to a 9-0 record. They’re currently ranked 2nd in Class B-1. Last weekend they won the Cimarron Tournament and now they’re looking for a title at the Coleman tournament this week.

Small town bucket getter, who already has made a run to the Class B semifinals. Comes from a family with a long history of scoring, which those battles with his older brothers likely helped him hit the grounding running this season. Impressed in the Class B quarterfinals, has good speed and even some lift when it comes to finishing around the rim. Would like to see him to continue to improve his wiggle, to better compliment a promising off the dribble mid-range game. Complete scorer who looks to be on the path to hit at least 2,000 points for his career.

The freshman played with the poise of an upperclassman, with steady scoring throughout the contest. Takes good shots in the flow of the offense, with a solid mid-range game. Showed some impressive lift and body control on one finish at the rim later in the game. Very impressive Big House debut for a player who has all the makings to be a small town star, with strong scoring chops. Finished with a game high 22 points in Stuart’s win.
