Tingle was controlled chaos on defense and a jumbo point guard on offense, almost leading the Vikings to the Bob. His ability to calmly pin shots on the backboard, grab the rebound, then launch the ball down court for a fastbreak assist never got old. His dunks and putbacks were evergreen too. Before the season, the UD-commit needed to take a step as an advantage creator in the halfcourt and he did that. Tingle made a few treys of his own, but him setting others up for open threes gave the offense some extra juice.

In an effort to neutralize Howard’s up tempo attack, Tingle threw his weight around for some athletic plays of his own. He kept the Wildcats from playing above the rim by rejecting shots and deflecting passes. Offensively, the UDel QB commit made tremendous plays on the glass and spread the ball around to his teammates. In the third, he grabbed a board and instantly shot it from the second level. Then in the fourth, he turned a rebound into a pull-up three. In total, Tingle filled every corner of the stat sheet with 7 points, 9 boards, 5 assists, and 4 stocks (1s 3b).

Tingle’s feel, physicality, and instincts are impressive considering that basketball isn’t his main sport. The dual-threat QB does just about everything except shoot the ball from deep, including creating for others, cleaning the glass, contesting shots, and more. Refining his handle or adding a pull-up middy would allow him to keep the defense honest when he wants to facilitate.

After starring at QB and moonlighting at Free Safety, Tingle laced the sneakers back up to be his team’s defensive chess piece and offensive hub. Regardless of position, he matched up with the opposing team’s best player, using his strength and footwork to limit their impact. The Vikings also played through Tingle when they had the ball. He distributed to the rock and brought the friction, whether he was driving or pulling up for two.

The three-sport athlete (football & baseball) is an all-around ballplayer for We-R1 UAA. His strength allows him to push around guards and handle wings and undersized bigs on defense. He can also read and react off of two feet offensively, opting to distribute or pump-fake and score.

Tingle made an immediate impact on the football field as the starting varsity QB and it was kind of the same way once he shifted over to the court. Not only did he lead the Vikings in points, he also led them in blocks and was second in steals, without playing the full season. The poised signal caller made splash plays on both ends to breathe life into his team.
