Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Purdy was one of the most intriguing players I saw at the entire camp. The 6-foot-7 wing/forward is extremely skinny and long, but he’s tougher than people think and has some wiggle to his footwork and offensive game. He finishes solidly with both hands, and he moves fluidly for his size and age. The three-point shot is still coming along, but Purdy can make plays for himself or others on the offensive end and does a good job using his length to bother finishers on the other end of the floor. The rising sophomore is attending St. Sebastian’s School this upcoming season and is going to get SO much better playing at that level.

Purdy, a forward out of Xaverian Brothers High School in Massachusetts, has improved in all aspects of his game over the last 12 months. The 6’8″ forward has good positional size, is a fluid mover, and has length that helps him to make an impact on both ends of the floor. He finishes with some creativity around the rim, can put the ball on the floor from the perimeter, and has some shot making ability out to the arc. Defensively, he can guard up and down a position and has the ability to protect the rim when coming from the help side. He’ll play his travel ball this summer with BABC and announced that he’ll head to St. Sebastian’s in the fall where he plans to join the Class of 2029.
