Known mostly as a football prospect heading into the winter, Lowman was one of my surprise breakout players as a senior for an excellent Delaware Hayes squad. On the hardwood, Lowman can shoot it, pass it and his physicality translates from the gridiron. One thing Delaware Hayes did as well as anybody was run in transition and throw it ahead, usually it was Lowman making the deep pass to a streaking teammate down the court for a breakaway layup. In the district final, Lowman controlled the game with his passing and then used fake passes to free himself up for shots against a rotating defense. Interested in playing both football and basketball at the college level, programs that can offer both sports seem to be at an advantage when recruiting the dual sport athlete.

Another multi-sport athlete who excels on the gridiron and the hardwood, Lowman played with more confidence than I’ve ever seen from him on Saturday. Shooting the cover off the ball from the wing, it seemed like every times Lowman was left open from 3-point range it was nothing but net. This quarterback shows his vision and arm strength on the hardwood with some incredible outlet passes and no look cross court dimes to shooters. Playing at his own speed and productive as a rebounder, decision maker and shooter, I was really impressed with Lowman on Saturday.

Lowman is a football first prospect, but he impressed with Midwest Basketball Club Quinn at the Midwest showcase. Lowman is physical, makes shots from the outside and is tough around the basket. A key piece for Delaware Hayes as they project to be one of the top teams in central Ohio next season, Lowman’s future likely lies on the gridiron but that shouldn’t diminish his basketball talents. Lowman threw for 2,500 passing yards and 22 touchdowns as a Junior for the Pacers.

Delaware Hayes had the upset of the day taking down Lakota East and Lowman was one of the key reasons for this. Another prospect with a football build, Lowman and Daniels show the importance of working hard in the weight room for basketball players. Lowman worked off the defensive attention that
