Hoyt is a long, lanky wing who uses his length effectively on both ends of the floor, covering a ton of ground and impacting the game in a big way. He’s an efficient offensive player who knows how to get to his spots in the mid-range as well as beat his defender off the bounce. He averaged 14.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.2 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game as a junior for the Panthers.

Hoyt was a key player for the Panthers as a sophomore, averaging 8.0 points and 3.9 rebounds a game. He was also a standout at our Top 250 Expo a few weekends ago, showing a good feel for the game and the ability to play with or without the ball in his hands as well as making an impact as a defender, putting his long 6-3 frame to good use on that end of the floor.

Hoyt is an active defender with good length at 6-3 who does a good job contesting shots on the perimeter without fouling. He showed good footwork and quick hands on the defensive end, picking the pocket of opposing ball-handlers a few times, leading to transition opportunities. Like Snyder, he didn’t touch the ball a ton, but he showed the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim for finishes through contact when he was looking to attack.

Hoyt was a solid role player for Creston as a sophomore, averaging 8.0 points and 3.9 rebounds a game off the bench. A 6-3 combo forward, he does a majority of his scoring inside the arc, but his greatest attribute at this point in time is probably his ability to defend multiple positions at a high level. He can protect the painted area as a shot blocker as well as move his feet on the perimeter.
