-Moody continues to build some momentum this spring playing with a TTO Showcase group that is building a rapport as they compete in preseason events. Moody has proven that he can be more than a shooter, serving as a disruptive defender both on the ball or as a helper in TTO’s fullcourt defensive trapping schemes that have fueled most of their runs in games. Moody is also growing much more comfortable attacking closeouts from the wing and drawing trips to the FT line to give himself more well-rounded performances that keep opposing defenses guessing on his next move. Want to see him be more assertive and aggressive as the skill work continues to show through as a guard that is steadily adding more to his game from 18′ and in.

-Caught bits of the 1H and all of the 2H of TTO Showcase ‘s win over AllBall to close out a productive weekend. Moody stood out as a productive guard prospect that can really shoot it from beyond the arc (5/7 from 3) but is also filling out the rest of his game. Moody hit a reverse layup off of an offensive rebound, hit contested shots by getting into his form quickly both off of the catch and off the bounce, and was active in passing lanes at the defensive end of the floor. His most impressive stretch came when he hit a 3 to take the lead, used a reverse pivot to hit a cutter with a beautiful bounce pass in the secondary break, and hit a floater off of two feet in the key. As he grows more confident over the course of the offseason, I want to see him react quickly to 50/50 balls in the halfcourt and become the aggressor at both ends of the floor to take advantage of his natural talent. But there is a lot to like here as he is successfully parlaying a productive freshman season on Brunswick’s varsity group into a key role for a good TTO National team.

-Moody is consistently producing as a key contributor off the bench for Brunswick that has dropped 20+ points multiple times this season. Moody can handle the rock enough to get to his spots, is seeing opportunities to squeeze between defenders with high or low dribble pick-ups, has improved his athleticism throughout the course of the season, and can play either guard spot. But his signature skill is the shooting. Love the lift and consistency on his jumper from all 3 levels as a player that is learning how to use his positional size to raise up over shorter defenders. Should turn some heads this season on the MHC with Team Takeover Showcase this spring and summer.

Jaivyn was a nice surprise from our Freshman Showcase held in the fall. All-around game that really saw no flaws when stacked up against other Freshman in the area. Liked the confidence in his ability to make consistent plays. Won’t force up a shot or a pass that’s not available. Smart player that will likely succeed on either JV or V as early as this season. A raw untapped athletic combo guard that is a name to watch in the area over the years.

-Moody had a great all-around performance this afternoon, showing his value as a versatile guard that can contribute in several areas to help his team win basketball games. Love how quickly he processes plays in the midst of chaos, coming up with long rebounds or loose balls often before his matchup can react to score in the paint or initiate a fastbreak going back the other way. Moody opened things up with four made 3s in the 1st half then got to work on the glass, sticking two putbacks around the rim before halftime and serving as a nice secondary shot-blocker for his team. Loved his touch in the paint on 2-foot floaters or extension finishes around the defense after snagging O boards for his team. He should thrive at the HS level as a guard that can maximize his touches by moving effectively off the ball to snag rebounds, hit perimeter shots, or score easy buckets on back cuts.
