Jay Frye | Prep Hoops Scout
Thomas played with a physical edge throughout the weekend and consistently impacted the game through rebounding, toughness, and perimeter shooting. He embraced contact on both ends, battled effectively on the glass, and created extra possessions through effort plays. Offensively, Thomas spaced the floor at a high level and knocked down perimeter shots with confidence when defenses collapsed into the paint. He also defended with physicality and showed the ability to guard both wing and forward matchups. His combination of shooting, rebounding, and toughness translated as winning basketball throughout the event.

was one of the best standout forwards I observed this summer during the Prep Hoops Circuit, showcasing exceptional all-around skills. Offensively he poses a significant threat to opposing defenses with his soft touch at the rim, reliable mid-range and perimeter shooting, and the ability to score from all three levels. His pre-shot preparation and strategic approach to scoring make him a formidable force on the court. Beyond his offensive prowess, Jagan demonstrated his rebounding abilities on both ends, resulting in numerous high-rebounding games. Additionally, he consistently contributes to the offensive flow by making smart passes that set his teammates up for success.
What Next for Jagan?
Jagan is a junior at Dallas Bishop Lynch High School who aims to carry his impressive production from the summer into the fall season. During the P32 League, he consistently averaged double figures in points, showcasing his exceptional skills. I haven’t heard much about his recruiting world, but I am confident that he will attract numerous suitors at the next level.

was probably the most polished player that played the forward and big position at the tournament. He is a big time rebounder on both ends of the floor showing great effort and aggression. Within the paint he has good touch despite being met at the rim at times by his matchups but he can bully his way into the paint when needed as well. Jagan is very accurate from the mid range taking mostly shots right outside the paint with defenders on his back or when making himself a target in the half court. While he excels in the paint Jagan can stretch the floor hitting some big threes that swung the lead at times. Jagan uses his height to his advantage over smaller defenders making the right reads especially in the paint. With a lot going for Jagan on offense he can also make a difference defensively in the interior.

Bully ball type wing, dangerous off the bounce. Was active on the offensive glass, strong frame allowed him to muscle his way to rebounds and then finish through contact. Capable shooting off the dribble or spot up. Developing driving game, hit a nice euro step at one point with a nice lefty finish. Another promising sign as a driver, doesn’t just look to score. Drove with patience and head up, to set up teammates if he saw them. Body is that of a wing right now, but there’s potential to turn into more of a 2 or even a combo. Hopefully Thomas maintains bully ball identity while adding skills.

showcased his dominance as a rebounder, impacting both ends of the court significantly. His ability to extend offensive possessions and limit opponents’ scoring opportunities played a pivotal role in PB Nation’s early lead. Thomas took pride in his role and demonstrated exceptional determination in controlling the boards. His relentless pursuit of rebounds made him a challenge to box out, as he crashed the glass with intensity and anticipation. Thomas exhibited excellent timing and an innate ability to read the trajectory of the ball, allowing him to outmaneuver taller opponents and secure rebounds at a remarkable rate. What truly distinguished Thomas was his tenacity and physicality in the paint, as he fearlessly battled with larger players for position and often emerged victorious in securing rebounds. His presence on the court was palpable, and there was a noticeable shift in the game whenever he was not on the floor.
