was just a few points away from 1,000 career points as they went into their clash with Metro Christian last week. Cool wasted no time reaching the milestone as he exploded for 12 first quarter points and reached the mark immediately. He would finish with 27 points on the night and was dominant from start to finish. Cool had just about everything in his game working for him on Thursday night. He was knocking down shots from the perimeter. He drove to the basket and finished against contact and even showcased a lethal step back jumper. Cool’s performance on Thursday night was one of the more impressive offensive outputs that I’ve seen in person this season and it’s because of how efficient and complete it was. Cool will definitely be one of the top players to watch in the Class 5A playoffs.

Cool has been on a tear his senior year and while successful in spurts in the second half Edmond Memorial’s defense did a strong job of disrupting him on drives. The drives that were successful were a testament to his strength and improved finishing ability. But on the day, Cool lacked some of the quickness needed to fully turn the corner and get quality looks at the basket. One good adjustment/growth to his game is improved vision as a passer, as did better at setting up his teammates for good looks.
It was also a learning experience in the final frame, as foul trouble impacted his play in the final minutes before he eventually fouled out, forcing him to miss overtime. This was an importance sequence to grow from when projecting him to the next level. His size, strength and athleticism make him stand out in Oklahoma. But for the levels that Cool could possibly play at, he’s not just competing against fellow Oklahomans, it’s bigger. And the quick succession of fouls he committed in the final frame would be a concern for college coaches looking at Cool and judging if he can help them win next year. Two of his fouls in the final frame came by fouling on shot attempts at the rim, where the player he fouled still finished through the soft contact. Which gave the rallying Bulldogs chances to get three points off shots at the rim and perhaps even worse led to the clock stopping. Another of the fouls came when he was flustered by backcourt pressure and was called for a player control foul due to pushing off. This is a pivotal growth moment for Cool’s potential as a college prospect, as in future big games with high leverage moments, he’ll need to keep his composure and make smart plays to help his team closeout games.

In their first game officially as a ranked Class 5A team, Holland Hall made quite the statement. The Dutch would dominate Cascia Hall 61-33 in a game that was actually called late in the third quarter when a backboard at Cascia would break. The Dutch improved to 11-0 on the season and their senior

was the leader in the scoring department once again. Averaging nearly 20 points per game, Cool would drop 24 points and also grab six steals in the win on Tuesday night. And again, this was a win that actually only featured three quarters of basketball. The Dutch beat Cascia again after beating them in the Skiatook tournament title game on Saturday night. The Dutch will host Rejoice Christian Friday night before participating in the Deer Creek tournament next week.

Holland Hall did play on Tuesday night and took care of business against Regent Prep, winning 65-18 to improve to 10-0. But we’re spotlighting their win on Monday night over 4A’s #9 Victory Christian. Senior star

would go off in their 46-40 win on Monday night with a game-high 31 points in the win. On Monday night, that was a battle between two top ten teams in Class 4A. On Tuesday morning, Holland Hall was shifted up into Class 5A in an unprecedented move by the OSSAA. We’ll have more on that later in the week on the site. But for now, it’s all about Cool and his stellar senior season. He has the Dutch as one of the top teams in the Tulsa area and with their bump up into Class 5A, they still are state tournament contenders in our opinion and immediately provide a threat to Memorial and Nathan Hale as contenders on the east side in Class 5A.

would lead the way with 24 points in the championship game against Victory. Cool is off to a great start and will be one of the more interesting guards to watch in the Tulsa area this season. He’s going to have outstanding production all year and he also benefits from having some help around him. Cool and the Dutch will be back action at home this week. They host Cascia Hall on Friday night before a Saturday afternoon game at home against Heritage Hall.

An athletic and strong guard, Cool has helped the Dutch to back to back trips to the Big House so far in his high school career. With only a few months left in his high school career, the talented 918 guard should be one of the most exciting players to watch as “senior urgency” sets in and he’ll be frequently attacking the rim with exciting finishes.

is a big and physical guard that has become one of the top players at the high school level. Projecting what he is as a prospect at the next level has always been tough for the last twelve months. There’s no doubt that Cool belongs at that level as he showed he’s one of the top scorers in Class 4A. Not only is Cool just as dangerous as a shooter, his big frame and athleticism make him a problem to defend at the high school level. Cool had games last season where he could torch an opponent from beyond the arc, or put the ball on the floor and get to the basket at will. Averaging nearly 17 points per game last season, Cool and several key pieces returning for the Dutch make Holland Hall a serious contender to make another run in an absolutely loaded Class 4A.
