Beatty, a sophomore guard out of Archbishop Williams High School, had a dominant performance in an early season win over Bishop Feehan, dropping 30 points in his team’s victory to go along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. The lefty is a dynamic ball-handler that has some real wiggle off the bounce, showing the ability to create space to get into his finish and facilitating game. He has the ability to make shots from behind the arc, but thrives as a slasher that can finish tough plays around the basket.

A dual sport athlete playing football as well. He was impressive tonight with his quickness and explosiveness. He has good hangtime, likes to play sky high attacking bigs at the rim. He can split the defense in a hurry, protects the ball on fast breaks and draws fouls if needed. I liked his handles as he changed the tempo, countered what the defense gave him. He is a true scorer, stretching the floor from NBA range. Rebounds well for a guard. If he continues this productiveness he is a D2 basketball player with a chance at D1. In D3 he would have a good career.

Beatty is a cerebral guard who really knows what he’s doing out there on the court. He threw multiple beautiful no-look passes to wide open bigs in the dunker spots that demonstrated his passing vision, and he also showed off some nice pick and roll game; he takes his time and is quite patient when it comes to making reads. He has a nice-looking shot that forces opposing guards to go over the screens and athleticism at the rim to finish if he can turn the corner. Very bright future ahead for Beatty, especially once he puts on some weight.
