He does an excellent job reading passing lanes and breaking away from opponents for quick steals before turning those takeaways into transition scoring opportunities. Nichols glides down the floor with impressive pace and can finish above the rim, including the ability to rise up for two-handed slams. Offensively, he combines controlled handles with the ability to knock down shots from deep and consistently comes through when his team needs a big bucket. His two-way impact and ability to make winning plays make him a name to watch heading into his senior season.

As a sophomore, Nichols was a key depth piece down the stretch for a senior laden Indians squad. After showing promise in his cameos off the bench, he now is ready for a bigger role. A strong and tough guard, he plays with a hard-nosed style. At the Expo, he impressed with an old school mid-range game. And with strong finishing at the rim. Mix in a little bit of scoring swagger and he could lead El Reno in scoring this winter.
