Jackston Stone enters the season as a recent transfer to Casady, bringing plenty of versatility to the Cyclones’ frontcourt. The lengthy 6’5 wing has the ability to make an impact both outside the perimeter and inside the paint, giving him multiple ways to attack opposing defenses. Stone is athletic and does a great job absorbing contact when attacking the basket, while his soft touch off the glass allows him to finish through traffic. He can also rise up and punch it at the rim, throwing down powerful two-hand slams when he gets an opening.

After a strong summer with Griffin Academy, Stone enters his first season at Casady with plenty of momentum and an opportunity to take on a major role. His versatility and athleticism should allow him to contribute heavily to the Cyclones’ production throughout the season.

McGuinness’ core of sophomores and freshman is intriguing and on Saturday it was the lanky wing who stood out. Hit big time shots from three throughout the second half vs Edmond Memorial. Which those threes seemed to shift momentum to the Irish every time as they rallied. His development will be interesting thanks to his long wingspan, had a nice block against Santa Fe that hinted at his potential to become a reliable “3 and D” wing for the Irish.

On offense, he flashed potential to be a good shooter and finish inside. On multiple occasions, he drove and finished in traffic or he drew the foul. Lastly, he made a good impact rebounding the ball. He came away with one board after another on multiple occasions. It was a great event for him all-around, as his team went 3-2. Both of the losses were close and he played an important factor in all of their wins.
