Powers is another underrated forward prospect in the 336 area to get to know at Davie County High. He does a lot of his work early, including the dirty work, in creating space/opportunities in the painted area for points and is quite the efficient shooter from deep. He produced a double-double with 13.9 points and 10.6 rebounds along with 2.2 assists and 2.0 blocks per contest as a junior and remains a name for DII and DIII programs in the region to know given his activity on the floor.

Jackson is an intriguing prospect who had a terrific weekend in Rock Hill. I got to see him on Saturday in a contest with Upward Stars PeeDee and Powers was a handful for the Stars. He has a good balance of old-fashioned interior scoring and modern perimeter shooting. Jackson was effective as a spot-up shooter in a BLOB set where he was run through an elevator to the corner. Powers has a strong body that won’t get bullied on the defensive end and he can make passes out of the post when in trouble. He went for 19 points in the overtime win.

Powers had himself a productive junior campaign with Davie County as they went 22-5 on the year and were a force in the Central Piedmont Conference. He was a force in the painted area on both ends of the hardwood in averaging 13.9 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 2.2 APG, 2.0 BPG and 1.4 SPG while shooting 49 percent from the field and 32 percent from behind the arc. He’s figuring out how to utilize his size at 6-foot-6 after racking up 16 double-doubles, ranking 19th in the state of North Carolina, according to MaxPreps. He’ll be a sizeable name to keep an eye on with NC Spartans this grassroots cycle.

Powers continues to lead Davie to an undefeated start, which meant a holiday tournament championship for his group. He had 23 in the championship game on perfect shooting, as well as 22 in their first round contest. He’s a force on the offensive glass primarily when he doesn’t have the ball in his hands, but he’s an efficient scorer both on the block and around the perimeter. I like the way he’s figured out how to nail the perimeter jumper with precision and selectivity. Also a quality rim protector with his size and physicality.

. Powers is a sizeable big man at 6-foot-6 for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on given his ability to be active on both the perimeter and painted areas. He’s producing 11.2 PPG, 13.2 RPG, 2.6 BPG and 2.2 SPG for the War Eagles and has shown his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting ability. He’s recorded a double-double in three of their five victories so far to kick off the season. He’s a name to get to know in North Carolina’s 2025 class.

Powers is continuing his impressive performances from the summer/fall, as he is averaging 13.2 RPG through 5 contests for Davie County HS so far. He’s very versatile and skilled, but what’s remained consistent in his game is willingness to get dirty and fight for loose balls on the rebounding front. He should start to pick up interest from D3 and other regional schools this year.
