In a game where his shot was just not falling, Jackson put his head down and got to the goal. It is always interesting to see how a player responds to adversity, and Jackson just kept working. He still scored 21 on an off-day if that puts it into perspective. Offensively, he is going to press the offensive issue, and on defense, he wants the work as well. French Settlement is going to be a tough team, and JC is a clear leader on a squad with tons of upside.

Chewning is a guard with really good size and an offensive mind set. He was knocking down mid-range shot, three balls, he was getting to the rim and he was getting into players for easy finishes. He is a high IQ guard and one of the top 2027 players in the state for a reason. His game continues to evolve and his skills continue to sharpen. He is a player that I don’t get to see often, but he is the real deal in person. Chewning is a high energy hooper that lets the game come to him. That type of comfort and confidence made him one of the top players at the Showcase and a Second Team Selection.

Jackson Chewning, the paint presence for the Louisiana Clippers during the Tune Up, demonstrated his exceptional rebounding skills and hustle in the stat category. On the offensive end, he showcased his ability to score inside with precision, using his footwork to create open shots. Notably, he also converted a few perimeter shots when open. Throughout the weekend, he held his own despite being matched up with taller opponents.

Chewning created space with a snatch dribble and hit a pull-up in rhythm, showing smooth mechanics. He worked off the bounce and off the catch, navigating traffic with fearless confidence. Quick reacting, wired to score, and doesn’t need much room.

A hard-nosed, high-motor competitor who made his mark defensively, especially off the ball. He rotated with urgency, closed out with purpose, and made winning plays by simply being relentless. His energy and effort consistently impacted possessions on both ends.

Chewning is a high IQ wing who can get his offense from multiple places on the floor. He can score from the mid-range, in transition, or from spotting up. Jackson can also rebound and do the other things to help the team win. Chewning does not have to dominate the ball to be effective which helps his team’s success. For a top player, that is a great trait. Look for him to improve in his scoring and make French Settlement a top team to beat.

Chewning is a gifted and athletic shooter who can play multiple positions. He can play the off guard and spot up from the wing or handle the ball and be a primary scoring threat. Chewning has a solid mid-range jumper and gets to his spots effortlessly. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and create problems. Jackson will power French Settlement this season on their state title quest.

Jackson is a smooth player that has text book form on his jump shot.  Jackson plays within himself often resulting in positive plays for his team.  Used a sweet euro step one possession to convert a nice lay in. Jackson’s poise and efficiency showed why he’s considered one of the best players in the state.
