-Braxton averaged just over 17 ppg in UA Rise to lead the league in efficiency with a 1.26 points per possession stat line. Braxton is one of the area’s more underrated perimeter shooters but also compliments that floor-spacing well with his frequent drives at the rim. Braxton isn’t afraid to lay his body on the line with extension lays in traffic or putbacks amongst the trees in the paint. Love the speed, pace, and aggression that he plays with in transition– showing a consistent ability to get into his defender’s chest around the basket to negate their shot-blocking ability and finish at the basket. Braxton’s scoring will be huge for a NHA team that graduates its 4-year leading scorer and loses some frontcourt depth. Scoring with that efficiency will likely be his and by extension– his team’s key to success.

A standout shooter for the Virginia Playmaker club team, Isrial is recognized as one of the top marksmen I observed this summer. His quick release and shooting consistency make him a valuable weapon on the perimeter, always ready to capitalize on open looks.

Isrial Braxton Isrial Braxton 6'2" | PG New Hope Academy | 2026 State MD has had an outstanding spring/summer. He’s been great this summer league while also raising his stock with the VA Playmakers . Isrial plays at his own pace, but he is also a very good athlete. He attacks the basket aggressively and does a good job drawing fouls. He is a good passer and jump shooter, and he competes on the defensive end. Isrial had 33 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Patriot.

-Loved the shift and burst throughout the game from Braxton, slicing through the lane to get to his spots in the halfcourt without needing a ball screen. Braxton had the jumper working but didn’t settle for perimeter shots. Loved seeing the maturation process to take better driving angles to the rim to beat his matchup to the spot while drawing fouls to break into his opponent’s depth. If he can utilize those paint touches to create for teammates on the perimeter or to dump off to his bigs for an easy deuce– he will only become that much more valuable for a really scrapping NHA squad.

I don’t know if any guard has been better than Isrial Braxton Isrial Braxton 6'2" | PG New Hope Academy | 2026 State MD so far in the Summer league. Isrial is an amazing shooter and has nice size. I’ve broken down his game multiple times over the past month, and what he’s done over the past week in the Summer league has been terrific. He had 23 points in a close loss to Landon and 21 points and 7 rebounds in a blowout win over Laurel. 

Isrial Braxton Isrial Braxton 6'2" | PG New Hope Academy | 2026 State MD is a knockdown shooter and a great athlete. Isrial does a great job attacking the rim, and he can find open teammates well. Isrial was outstanding shooting the ball today from three. He hit 5 threes and finished with a game-high 26 points in a 20-point New Hope win. 

Another player on this team who has had a nice start to this early AAU season is Isrial Braxton. Isrial is an athletic and skilled scorer who does an excellent job attacking the rim. He is also a good passer and rebounds well for his size. Isrial has a lot of defensive potential, and if you watch his highlights, you’ll see him get up and get his hands on shots.
