is a young guard with heaps of talent, and he has many ways that he impacts winning. He is an absolute sniper from outside, both off the catch and off the bounce. He is great at pulling up behind screens from deep and hitting at a high clip. His ball handling and speed, combined with his quick jumper, make him a nightmare to guard. He can get to the rim anytime he likes, and he displays soft touch through contact in the paint. He is elite at getting deep into the paint with his phenomenal dribble pick-ups. And his use of deceleration allows him to create many great angles for his lay-ups. He is also a very active and versatile defender. He comes down with many steals and blocks, and can guard bigger opponents without much trouble.

was killing it in this game. Isaiah scored at every level. From behind the arc he was insanely efficient. He displayed a super quick release and an ability to get his shot off at any moment. He was hitting from deep range throughout this game and defenders could not go under his screens at all. His handle also very much stood out. Isaiah is extremely smooth as a shot creator and is very comfortable exploding into space, and then rising into his shot and retaining his balance and mechanics. He has an endless array of combos and can break down defenders off the bounce like it’s nothing. His ability to get a bucket made him draw lots of attention from East’s defense, and he was elite at making quick reads, and finding his teammates for open looks. He has elite speed, but even while exploding downhill he read the floor very well. He made many great drop off passes and produced many shots at the rim for his squad. Isaiah was no slouch on the defensive end either. He played great perimeter defense throughout this contest, and racked up blocks and steals, making a huge impact on the defensive end.

is a hooper that can get a bucket at any time, and that’s exactly why he earned a spot on my First-Team All-Expo. Though Team 5 as a whole often struggled to keep up with the squads they faced in the five-on-five, Slaughter did just about everything he could to keep his team in it. Able to score in a variety of ways, the 6’1″ combo guard created for himself on the perimeter, could finish with either hand at the rim and launched a few threes from the corner.
Just when it appeared like Slaughter’s hot streak would end, he continued to make tough shots. He could get almost anything he wanted at any time for Team 5 offensively.

got a bucket just about whenever he wanted to in Des Moines. Whether it was creation on the perimeter to step back and get open shots for himself, driving to the rim, getting out in transition or catch-and-shoot from the corner, Slaughter was a walking bucket for his team in the five-on-five part of the day.
A deceptively good scorer, in fact, Slaughter is quick, but doesn’t get erratic with the ball in his hands. He plays at his own pace, and he doesn’t get sped up by opposing defenses. His shot-making ability was flat-out impressive, too. No matter how frequently he put a shot up, it felt as though it almost always went in.
Always in control, one may say that he holds onto the ball too much, or is a “ball hog,” but when he’s scoring at-will and doing just about everything for his team on the offensive end, that gets shut down quickly.
