One of the most productive players in Dayton, Williams leads the GWOC in scoring and is second in rebounding and assists. Can’t ask for much more from your do-it-all senior lead guard. Not to mention, he also leads the conference in steals as well. In a wide open playoff bracket in southwest Ohio, we’ll see if Williams can put the team on his back and lead Beavercreek on a mini run in March.

Few players attack the rim as well as Williams does, going hard with his left hand at the rim. Playing off two feet is a key for Williams as he can get to the paint and then has the touch to finish through traffic. I was also impressed with how Williams used pivots and pump fakes to get himself open. In transition, Williams has the speed to turn on the jets and blow past the defense. The current leading scorer in the GWOC, Williams is one of the top seniors in the Dayton area.

One of the quickest guards in the state, Williams had a very productive Junior season, finishing second in the GWOC in scoring at 19.3 PPG. Able to thrive in an up-tempo environment, Williams needs to go to a program that suits his playstyle. The biggest question with Williams is the 3-point shot and after making just eight 3-pointers as a Junior, he showed some development in the summer. I’ll be curious to see how well Williams shoots it as a senior because he checks a lot of other boxes on the court.

Williams stood out to me with his defensive activity and quickness, changing the pace of the game. An active defender, Williams forced a couple turnovers and instantly turned on the jets to push in transition. With Williams speed and quickness, he’s also tough to stop from getting to the paint off the dribble. Williams did a nice job getting to his preferred left hand and scoring at the rim. Also flashing some cuts off the ball, Williams was active all over the court. Williams did knock down one corner 3-pointer and continuing to develop a reliable perimeter jumper will be the main area of focus as he prepares to make the jump to the college level.

Beavercreek plays a fast tempo with Williams as the engine of the offense. With a slam dunk immediately after the opening tip, it set the tone for the game. Williams was attacking the rim with a ton of aggressiveness, occasionally lowering his shoulder at the rim. The key swing skill for Williams will be the 3-point shot and he made two 3-pointers in the game I saw which is an encouraging development. Continuing to work on that skill and getting a smoother release could elevate Williams game and recruitment.

One of the biggest winter risers in the state, Williams has taken a huge leap for a Beavercreek squad that turned some heads this season. One of the most athletic guards in SW Ohio, Williams is a tough cover with a head of steam and has an excellent first step and burst to attack the rim. The up-tempo style of play suits his skillset to perfection playing for his Dad. Finishing third in the GWOC in scoring, Williams has taken a clear leap this season. I’ll be interested to see how Williams looks on the grassroots level, a majority of his production comes due to his athletic advantages at the high school level. Williams only made eight 3-pointers all season and shot 65% from the free throw line, his perimeter shooting needs to be the main area of improvement this summer.

Beavercreek played an exciting brand of basketball, getting up and down the court with Cincinnati Woodward in a game that was really fun to watch. I wanted to spotlight Williams as he was maybe the most efficient scorer I saw all weekend, going 11/13 from the field. A big time athlete, Williams is looking to attack downhill in transition and get to the lane where he can jump stop for floaters and touch shots at the rim. Improving his athleticism, Williams had a powerful transition slam dunk where he got up on the rim easily. To cap off the game, Williams threw an alley-oop to his teammate for a slam dunk as the buzzer sounded. I really liked the up-tempo style Beavercreek played with and the skill they showed across their roster. I expect Williams to get a lot of college recruiting attention this spring and summer.

Another prospect who helped his team to an unbeaten record during the first live period, a theme throughout this article. Williams led Beavercreek in scoring at 16.4 PPG and knocked down 30 3-pointers as a sophomore. A lefty slasher, Williams is best in the mid-range and has good touch from 8-15 feet. With good length, there’s room for defensive upside with Williams averaging over a block and a steal per game last year. I’ve only gotten to see Williams with his grassroots team, where he plays a bench role and does a lot of little things to impact the game. I’m excited to check him out as a Junior with Beavercreek where he’s their primary scorer and seeing how his game looks in a different role.
