Odutayo, a forward out of the Pomfret School in Connecticut, is ranked #11 among the power forwards and checks in at #60 overall in this update. The 6’9″ forward is an elite athlete with a plus wingspan that plays with terrific instincts on the defensive end of the floor. He’s a big time rim protector, both while guarding on the ball and when coming from the help side, and even has the mobility needed to defend on the perimeter. Offensively, his game has taken major strides in the past year and he’s now comfortable playing out of catches on the perimeter. He’s at his best around the rim, both cleaning up on the offensive glass and finishing plays as a roller or cutter. He’ll play on the travel circuit this spring and summer with The House We Built.

Developing post who is in the early stages of his development, mile long length can be seen frequently on the defensive end. Like his eye for the floor and can see things into existence from a far. Shows some flashes moving the ball as a passer. He finds ways to jump passing lanes. I like his footwork on the offensive end and has some fluidity and nimbleness. Needs to work on getting stronger and scoring in and around traffic. Best basketball is on the horizon. 

Udutayo is 6-foot-8 and has ridiculously long arms, so the potential is through the roof. Right now, he’s raw and is still learning his body and his limbs when it comes to handling the rock and making plays in small spaces, but the flashes of athleticism he shows as a driver are quite impressive. He extends out for finishes and dunks and also has a decent looking perimeter shot, so I could see him developing a lot between now and his freshman year of college. Schools of all levels should keep an eye on Odutayo, who has some physical tools you just can’t teach and could be a late bloomer.

Odutayo has impressive length which he uses to his advantage on the offensive glass and as a rim protector coming from the help side. He covers ground quickly with long strides, does a nice job of running the floor in transition, and knows how to roll out of ball screens. He has a big catch radius, a soft set of hands, and the ability to make shots in the mid-range. On top of that, he has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass and the ability to finish loudly above the rim.
