Expert Analysis
Hector Marquez | Prep Hoops Scout
McIntyre is a high-energy and high-motor prospect who can make anyone on the team better with his presence. Defensively, he gets things started with the skill set of picking up the entire length of the floor. He does a great job of sliding and staying in front. He often forces turnovers. On offense, he is a PG that can create, and he does a great job playing off of two feet.

Even through all the turmoil the team went through last season, Ian was a bright spot for them. He’s a guy that can do it all on offense and make a difference in the passing lanes. But what stands out to me is how he was the leader for his team last year even with plenty of older kids on the roster. He’s been climbing in the rankings and for good reason. He’s a great passer in the open court and plays the game for what it is. He won’t force things often and can see plays develop before they happen.

McIntyre is a talented player who has improved his game every year. This season, expect him to be sharper and quicker taking shots from beyond the arc. He brings a strong lead guard skill set to the floor. It’s easy to envision him attracting attention from NWAC schools and D3 programs seeking guards who can compete and contribute when needed.

McIntyre is a hidden gem over at West Jordan. His growth as a lead guard has been very visible and he has room left to improve. Could easily see McIntyre become a reliable next level guard at the D3 or NWAC level.

McIntyre has added to his game and we have seen some of that already and he is set to have a no regrets senior season. He will need to be assertive and get players open looks but also know when to keep the ball in his hands and make it happen.

Ian has been one of those players that has slowly been putting in work away from social media or any post and he has really elevated his game. He is strong on the ball as a defender and he is also strong as a lead guard getting more downhill on his drives. ian is also using his screens a lot better and getting to good scoring spots and good spots to keep passing lanes open and available. He will keep you off balance because he is shooting the ball better as well.

McIntyre has gotten stronger physically and that has helped him as he is a rim attacking guard. He went from at times not getting to the rim because of contact to plwing his way through contact and now creating it himself. It was good to see him keep it simple and drive the ball with one move or a simple rip and go. He wasn’t dancing with the ball and he was impressive on the defensive end moving his feet but also being physical.

McIntyre has been slowly working on his game and he has become more and more confident with his ball handling skills His strength on the ball could be something that not only elevates his game but those around him as they will be full of players that can grab and go. He might be smaller when it comes to lead guards but he he rebounds and uses that strength to hold his own against some of those bigger guards. McIntyre looks to be a guard that sees the floor a lot more this coming season.
