Comments: This long Comet is having a nice summer thus far. Henry has improved as a steady defender, a consistent rebounder, and an efficient finisher. The best part of Koppmann game is his ability to run the floor. At 6’6″, he is athletic and really gets up and down the floor well. He has a great ability to come down with a rebound, take off, and lead the team in transition. Let’s see what Henry can do this weekend.

-Eye-catching length, quality mobility, runs floor well, hoops hard on both ends

-Impressed as a slasher this spring, gets to the line often, versatile, positive contributor

Henry has some nice tools to work with moving forward. At 6’6 he moves with fluid athleticism, and works hard on and off the ball. Throughout the game I watched Henry was constantly sprinting rim-to-rim in transition to earn some easy scoring opportunities, while also putting himself in position to shut down transition opportunities on the defensive end. Koppmann crashed the glass hard, competed for low-post position, blocked/contested shots inside, and flashed shooting touch beyond the arc.

-Slim, but he certainly has the frame to add muscle

-Banged home an 8-foot jump shot, rose up over the BIG Red Devil

-Quality inside-out assist, teammate hit a triple

-Did not start in the 2nd half but played solid minutes

-Blocked a shot in the 2nd half w/o fouling, came over in helpside, walled up

-Certainly has potential and the Comets will need his length to be successful

-His length can make him a game-changer; has a nice mid-range shooting game

-Runs the floor well, flexible O-player, now it’s his turn to step up to the plate

Koppmann is with Sanford Sports Academy SF , with the top 16U team. I haven’t seen him yet this Summer, so I’m interested to see how he handles physicality and how he looks on the perimeter on the offensive end.

Koppmann is a little bit of a projection as the #10 ranked prospect. Right now he’s a JV player but he has good length at 6’6” and runs and moves well in all directions. He’s not a dominant player on the court but he does a lot of of really good things to help his team win. A smart passer that sees the floor well and moves the ball around quickly. Finds open cutters with on-target passes. He gets active in the paint and on the glass but needs to become a little stronger to rip boards away from opponents. He sometimes struggles securing the ball for possession. He’s also capable of stretching the floor from three with a set three-point shot. Defensively, he’s very agile and has surprising fluidity for being such a lengthy prospect. Rapid City Christian will be very good for the foreseeable future and Koppmann will be a key piece in their success the next couple years.
