About Hakim

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I'm a versatile guard who can play both the 1 and 2. I control the tempo, create opportunities for my teammates, and can score at all three levels. I’m strong in transition, confident with the ball, and have a high basketball IQ. Whether it’s running the offense or knocking down key shots, I step up when the team needs it most.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a leader’s mindset and a relentless work ethic. I stay composed under pressure and always look to outwork my opponent. I’m coachable, hungry to improve, and bring energy and positivity to every practice and game. I compete with heart and always put the team first.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership and communication skills, learned the value of teamwork.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, one of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was overcoming an injury that kept me off the court for several months. It tested my patience, discipline, and mental toughness. I used that time to focus on film study, strengthening my body, and becoming a better leader from the sideline. It made me hungrier and more motivated than ever to improve.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a competitive basketball program, strong academics, and a coaching staff that values player development. I want to be part of a team that plays hard, plays smart, and plays together. I’m open to any division as long as the culture is right and the opportunity allows me to grow as both a player and a person.
