Stevens made his mark this season as a true shot maker, blending shooting ability with strong ball handling and confidence. He consistently created his own looks, knocking down shots from deep while also using his dribble to break down defenders and attack the rim. His offensive versatility kept defenses off balance all year. On the other end he held his own as a quality defender, competing and bringing effort every possession. Stevens has embraced the go to role for Valor and is thriving in it. Averaging 18 points per game, his production comes within the flow of the game, with very little forced or rushed. While he’s a proven three point shooter, his biggest growth has come from attacking off the bounce, getting downhill and finishing strong at the rim. He consistently draws contact and converts at the free throw line, putting pressure on defenses. On the other end his physical, competitive defense makes him a tough matchup and adds to his overall impact

Stevens was a tough cover showcasing an offensive arsenal that’s hard to slow down. His step back fadeaway was nearly impossible to contest. He showed strength and quickness to drive the lane and create his own shot at will. With a sharp change of direction, he keeps defenders guessing and consistently finds ways to score in isolation situations. On the defensive end Stevens applied constant pressure to opponents. He stays locked in on the ball, moves well laterally and forces tough decisions. His energy and competitiveness carry over on both sides of the court, making him a two way presence who impacts every possession. At The Expo Stevens proved to be a dynamic scorer and relentless defender who’s capable of taking over stretches of play with both his shot making and intensity

Stevens was a summer standout as a glue guy with high upside, but I believe there’s more to his game. He appears to do whatever is asked of him as a coach’s dream as a player, you don’t have to run plays for to get him going. Well, in a showcase showing, that is exactly what it is, him being productive, using his size, and making plays. He checks off all boxes for a productive playe,r and the more we see of him, the more that we like him. I feel he will have a standout year and this can be a glimpse of that. He can come and take over at our event and show all that he has to offer.

Stevens is the ultimate glue guy during grassroots, and what stands out about him is his ability to give you a bit of everything. He hits timely shots, rebounds out of his area, and steps up on defense. At 6’3, he has excellent size and gave his team 8.1 PPG as a sophomore. He was on a stacked team and made those hustle plays that stand out, but this upcoming year, he’s primed to boost his scoring, playmaking, and rebounding. But now at Valor, it’s time to stop blending in and start standing out. Stevens is in our Top 25 right now, but a breakout season could push him much higher.

Stevens is exciting to watch for the pure joy of his motor and that he keeps moving all around the court. Grant’s goes all out on both ends of the floor. He finds ways to run off screens and get open- his athleticism and speed allows him to create a play and go to the hole. His long arms also allow for him to get a shot off over the defender- while he has a quick release to do so. On defense his length helps him contest a shot or keep his opponent from driving around him. Grants game really shines as he is the glue that keeps his team together- that unselfishness player who does it all on both ends of the floor.
