Gilbert Flagel Gilbert Flagel 6'5" | SF Pella Christian | 2026 State IA had a dominant performance in this game. Gilbert did literally everything for Pella Christian, and without him they would have most likely lost. His skill at his size is mesmerizing. His handle, footwork, touch, shooting, passing, and fluidity are all extremely impressive. Out of the triple threat, he pulled up in the midrange and hit tough shots, and exploded downhill for finishes around the rim. He is super shifty at his size, and his dribbling was outstanding. Consistently, he shook defenders off the dribble and created shots for himself at every level of the court. He was also very difficult to slow down in the post, as he got great position around the rim throughout this game. His elite repertoire of skills makes him a fantastic isolation scorer that draws lots of help defenders, and he is great at drawing help and then diming up his teammates at the last second with accurate passes. His instincts as a scorer and passer are special, and he has a unique finesse to his game that makes him a difficult force to bottle up, especially with how versatile his skill set is, with him being a threat from outside and around the rim, which allows him to draw many fouls. He did all this while being impactful on the glass and on defense. He blocked many shots in this game and guarded every position. At the end of the game, with three seconds left, he blocked the game-winning shot, securing the win for his team.
